About Edasich
Edasich is an orange giant of class K, a star past its hydrogen-burning stage that has grown far wider than the Sun. Its surface is cooler than the Sun’s and it is far more luminous.
A giant planet, more massive than Jupiter, orbits it on a strongly elongated path, found by the small regular wobble it imposes on the star. It was among the first planets found around a giant star, showing that planets can survive a star’s swelling into old age, at least for a time.
What you see in the piece
In the piece Edasich is an orange point in the coils of Draco. Its planet shines only by the light of its star and is far too faint to see at any distance the eye can reach.
Questions
Does Edasich have planets?
