About Wazn

Wazn is a cooler, orange star, larger than the Sun and many times brighter, which has already used up the hydrogen in its core and expanded. Its swollen surface is what makes a star of modest temperature shine so well.

It lies beside Phact in the small southern figure of the Dove, below Lepus. The name is Arabic for weight, the same word that gave Wezen in Canis Major its name.

What you see in the piece

Wazn is much closer than Phact, so the two stars that make up the Dove’s body separate quickly when you fly south from the Sun.
