About Kaus Media
Kaus Media, Delta Sagittarii, is an orange giant, a large ageing star far more luminous than the Sun, its surface cooler than the Sun’s.
Its name joins the Arabic for bow with the Latin for middle: it is the centre of the bow, between Kaus Borealis above and Kaus Australis below. In the Teapot it is a corner of the body, at the base of the lid.
What you see in the piece
The three stars of the bow lie at quite different distances; fly out and Kaus Media falls back behind its two partners.
