About Haedus
Haedus is a blue-white star hotter than the Sun, still burning hydrogen in its core and shining much more brightly than the Sun. Its strong ultraviolet light is the mark of a young, massive star.
Capella’s name means the little she-goat, and nearby lie the Kids, a small triangle of stars that the Charioteer is pictured carrying. Haedus, Latin for a kid, is one of them, along with Almaaz and Saclateni.
What you see in the piece
The three Kids look like a tight family from Earth, but in the piece they lie at very different distances and come apart as soon as you leave the Sun.
