About Grumium
Grumium, Xi Draconis, is an orange star of class K, larger and more luminous than the Sun, with a cooler surface. It is the nearest of the stars in the Dragon’s head.
With Eltanin, Rastaban and a fainter fourth star it forms the small lozenge of the head, which lies not far from Vega and is easy to find from northern latitudes.
What you see in the piece
From Earth the head of Draco is a neat quadrilateral; flown out to, Grumium comes forward and Rastaban recedes, and the shape is gone.
